The highly anticipated 2016 Pantone Color of the Year has been announced, and for the first time, it's actually two shades. The blending of Rose Quartz and Serenity has been chosen as the color of the year for 2016. "Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure," explains a representative from the Pantone Color Institute. "Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times." 

We expect to see many weddings featuring these ethereal hues as they easily complement a soft wedding color palette. Blush, which is a similar shade to Rose Quartz, has been a popular wedding color for a few years and is often used in floral design, bridesmaid attire, and linens. With the addition of Serenity, a tranquil and soft blueish-purple shade, we imagine many couples will love exploring how to combine the two colors in their attire, flower design, and décor.

Whether the shades are used together equally or one is highlighted more than the other, the outcome is a romantic design combination that can be achieved with florals, lighting, and tablescape décor.
